From Late Nights to Court Contracts: The Story of Access Transcripts
How It All Began
In 2013, we launched Access Transcripts with two laptops, a pair of headsets, and a shared commitment to doing transcription differently. We weren’t backed by investors or a big firm. Just two professionals—Ilene and Lisa—determined to provide exceptional legal transcription services with integrity, quality, and care. We had both seen the gaps in the industry: missed deadlines, poor quality control, and a lack of accountability. From day one, we set out to build something better.
Building One Transcript at a Time
In the early days, we wore every hat. We transcribed, proofed, invoiced, managed client communications, and built our reputation one transcript at a time. The work was intense, but we believed in our mission. Word spread quickly, and soon we were handling transcripts for high-stakes cases. Our first big opportunity came when we were awarded a contract with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. It was a turning point that opened doors to additional court systems and legal clients nationwide.

One area where we’ve been especially proud to make an impact is in Indiana. We've built strong relationships with court reporters across the state and have become a go-to resource for preparing Indiana appellate court transcripts. We understand the tight timelines, formatting requirements, and high standards that appellate work demands, and we deliver. The trust we've built with court reporters is something we don’t take lightly. They know they can count on us when they need a partner who can step in quickly and get it right the first time.
Growing with Purpose
As demand grew, so did our team. We now work with an incredible group of nationally certified transcription professionals who share our core values of accuracy, accountability, responsiveness, and urgency. We’ve developed systems to ensure our work is consistent, correct, and always client-focused. We currently serve dozens of bankruptcy courts, multiple U.S. District Courts, Circuit and Superior Courts around the state of Indiana, and law firms across the country. But no matter how much we grow, we stay rooted in what matters, treating every case with care and delivering transcripts that legal professionals can rely on.
